Race History

A conversation with our Pastor sparked a much needed effort to develop a race within the rural, faith-based community and to whomever loves to run or walk. After thinking on it for awhile, we decided to name the race, Treyon Haynes 5K Run/Walk for Cancer. This race would have a duel purpose. It would not only promote healthy living and exercise, but also raise money for Cancer research, with all proceeds going to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Who is Treyon Haynes?
Treyon Haynes is the son of Thomas and Tawanna Haynes, the Executive Directors of T&T Enterprises. Treyon passed away at the young age of 7 from Neuroblastoma Cancer. Neuroblastoma is the second most common solid tumor in childhood affecting about 7% of all children with cancer. It is the most common solid cancer in infants. (https://curesearch.org/Neuroblastoma-in-Children). In honor of his son, Thomas Haynes runs the St. Jude Marathon every year in support of Cancer Research. This is an admirable gesture, as with all of the other runners who participate in this race.

How can you help support this effort?
You may say, "I already give to St. Jude". We understand. However, why not join us in our effort by walking or running the Treyon Haynes 5K in support of healthy living for the local community, and donate all at the same time? Not only are you helping in these areas, but your presence helps our race continue grow. We need you! Your help would be tremendously appreciated!
